Dangers of the Internet for Minors

There are many dangers of the Internet for minors. For instance, someone chats with you. Then, they ask if you two can meet up some place and you agreed. Once you’re in that place where you two are supposed to meet up, the person can possibly kidnap you. The other dangers of the Internet are the obscene websites. It is not appropriate for minors. Another danger are the viruses. Viruses can slow down your computer. The other kind of danger are the ads. Don’t believe the ads because it might be untrue, or if you click the ad, it might lead you to an inappropriate site. You can protect yourselves by having your parents block the obscene websites, or you can have your parents watch what you are doing. Schools can protect students from inappropriate websites by having them blocked and unavailable for students.
Assembly Events

The assembly in the UMS gym was awesome. We all had to sit down first as all the students running for SBA officers get ready to say their speeches. As they get ready, Mrs. San Nicolas talked about the regulations that is mandatory to follow. She said that boys and girls have to tuck in their polo shirts. If you chose to wear an inside shirt, it must be white. There is no bullying allowed in school. You cannot bring any weapons, including fake ones, to school. If you chose to wear a jacket, you can only wear it during class, but you must take it off when you’re not in class. The last thing she mentioned was that the student’s may not bring any drugs, cigarrettes, Marijuana, etc. to school.
Finally, it was time for the candidates to say their speeches to convince us to vote for them. Mostly all candidates had supporters in the audience. They had signs that says to vote for a certain person they’re supporting. Almost every candidate started off their speeches by getting us pumped up. For example, they would say, “Wildcats, let me hear you scream!” Then, of course, we would reply by screaming. The first group of students that had to say their speeches were the people who were running for Sargent at Arms. Then it was PRO’s turn, then Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and last but not least, President. Some of the candidates looked really nervous at the beginning as they say their speeches. Others we’re really energetic. They ended their assembly with announcements from Mr. Pama, and announcements about Peer Mediation. Overall, the assembly was great and very energetic.
Favorite Website of all Time!

My favorite website has to be Myspace. It’s my favorite website because it allows me to meet new and interesting people. I have met some of my old friends from elementary in Myspace. You can comment each other back and forth as if you two were chatting. You can let your personality shine in your profile. You can write about yourself in the About Me section and the things you like to do in the Interests section. People can learn new things from you through Myspace. You can be yourself. It also allows me to listen to music. That’s why Myspace is my favorite site to go to when I’m on the computer.
Favorite Parts of the Newspaper

What I enjoy reading in the newspaper are the comics. The comics can be very humorous. I also like reading my horoscope just to see if what it says does happen. Another thing that I like reading is the Dear Abby column because it’s very interesting and you can learn from the advice Abby gives. I would make the newpaper interesting by having one page talk about issues written by teenagers. I would also add more advice columns and comics.

My first week of school was okay. I was a little nervous because I didn’t know what team I’m going to be in. I was also very excited to see my friends again. I was glad that we were’nt going to have CR anymore. I even met some new friends. Instead of having 42 minutes in class, they added three more minutes to each class besides homebase. Overall, it was an okay and great first week of school.
