The issue I feel passionate about is the Untalan Middle School bathrooms. The school bathrooms have a very smelly and distinct odor. It’s also dirty. We need new paint for the walls to cover all the graffiti. The bathrooms, in my opinion, are an unhealthy environment, and I think that we must improve them.

          Sometimes when you pass by a bathroom, you can really smell the odor. This odor doesn’t smell quite pleasant. I believe that there is a lot of dirt in the school bathrooms. There are also some mud stains on the ground. I think that it doesn’t make our school bathrooms appealing to anyone. I think that we need new paint to cover up all the graffiti. They tagged vulgar languages that I feel is disrespectful and unnecessary. The faculty, staff, and students should do something  about the bathrooms because no one wants to walk in a bathroom that’s dirty and smelly. People should contribute in improving our school bathrooms for the better.

         People were in shock when they heard about the accident. Mostly everyone was sad about what happened. Some of the students cried just thinking about the accident. Most of my teachers talked about the accident and told us some safety rules you must follow when crossing the road. People who don’t know Joanna or people who aren’t close to her, felt very sorry for her and sad. My team, 8A Lions,  even had a little assembly/ritual for Joanna during the afternoon.

          I think that when you plan on crossing the street, you must use a crosswalk. You should also look both ways before crossing the street. Drivers should reduce their speed if there’s a crosswalk around. I also think that people shouldn’t drink and drive. Not only would they hurt themselves, but they can injure other people, too. They should have more restrooms in the skate park to avoid crossing the street to use the restroom. It’ll be a lot safer that way.

         My favorite movie has to be “Happy Feet.” It’s my favorite movie because the characters, penguins, are so adorable! The movie is about a penguin, who is quite different from others because an accident happened to him when he was still an egg. The main character’s name is Mumble. Mumble can’t sing very well, while the other penguins can sing fantastically. The penguins in this movie find their soul mates through songs. Mumble can’t sing, but he can make music with his feet; tap dancing. While his parents disapprove of his tap dancing, some think that it’s a very special talent. His parents put him in singing classes, but unfortunately, he wasn’t doing well, so he just decided to stick to tap dancing.

         I recommend that other people should watch “Happy Feet.” I think that people would really enjoy this movie. Some people can relate to the story. This movie would surely keep you laughing. The characters in this movie are very humorous and interesting. They also have their own unique personalities. I believe that people would really love “Happy Feet” after they watch it.

         The title of the article that I chose is called “6:45p.m.- Explosion Kills 6, injures score at Makati Mall in Philippines.” The phenomenon took place in the Makati Mall in Philippines. The people who were inside the mall were the ones who were killed and injured. They were killed and injured because there was a powerful explosion that hit the mall. There were six people that were killed and approximately 70 people that were injured.

         The explosion took place on October 19, 2007 at 6:45 p.m. The explosion caused many damages. The explosion toppled roofs and destroyed the walls. It also sent debris crashing onto the automobiles outside. I agree that it could be a bomb, but it’s still not definite yet. I agree because it might not be a bomb that caused the explosion. It could be something else that caused it.

         I did many things during the October 31 activity. While others went to the dance, I went to Mrs. Wong’s class. I then went to Rm. 9 with my other friends to buy some pickles. We went back to Mrs. Wong’s class and played a lot of board games. We played Scramble and Monopoly. It was really fun! We ate candy and my friend gave me a cheese pizza. The last thing we did was play Duck, Duck, Goose. We looked silly playing Duck, Duck, Goose, but it was really fun!

          We can improve student activities by having more options of activities available. Not everyone wants to go to the dance. They should make the activities last longer. They should also sell more different kinds of snacks for the students to eat during the activity. “It is really hard to think of ways for it to be improvised because I always have a great time at school activites, so I think in my opinion, these school activities are pretty much up to my standards,” says Alana C., who is an Untalan Middle School student.

         My progress in my Creative Writing class is pretty okay. I improved a lot since the first day of school. In my opinion, I think I’m doing quite well in my homeworks, projects, and tests. Sometimes I need to work on the things that I’m having a hard time doing. I’m also learning a lot of things in this class. I hope to get better grades, too.

          My knowledge of blogs improved, too. I learned so much in this class. I learned not to type in the last name of minors. I learned how to punctuate sentenced correctly. Because of the information I gained in my Creative Writing class, I’m no longer having a hard time creating blogs/posts.

         I learned a lot of Internet/email, writing, and blogging skills. I learned not to put your last name for your email. I learned not to trust the ads on the Internet because they can be untrue. I also learned not to put any personal information about yourself. I know how to revise sentences. I also know how to use proofreading marks correctly. I’m really looking forward into gaining more knowledge in this class.
